چکیده

Background To assess the feasibility of cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and angiography (MRA) at 3.0T in pediatric patients with congenital heart disease (CHD) and to compare the technical and diagnostic performance with an age-matched and clinically comparable control group imaged at 1.5T. Methods Forty-six patients (age 1 day to 8 years, mean 37.2 ± 32.8 months) with suspected or known CHD were evaluated (9/2008-5/2011). SSFP cine imaging, timeresolved MRA (TR-MRA), and high resolution contrast-enhanced MRA (HR-MRA) were performed. Two independent observers analyzed the MRI data for

CMR in pediatric patients with congenital heart disease: comparison at 1.5T and at 3.0T

Background Despite the theoretical advantages of higher field strength, widespread adoption of CMR at 3.0T has been slow. To the best of our knowledge, there have been no published reports on the use of 3.0T for imaging in pediatric congenital heart disease (CHD). We sought to assess the feasibility of CMR in pediatric patients with CHD at 3.0T and to compare the technical and diagnostic perfor...

Non-Contrast-Enhanced Pulmonary MR imaging: Comparison of Capability for Nodule Screening between 1.5T and 3.0T MR Systems

INTRODUCTION: Detection of pulmonary nodule, lung cancer screening and metastases surveillance are widely performed by chest radiograph and/ or multidetector-row CT (MDCT) in routine clinical practice. Although higher detection rate and diagnostic capability of MDCT are considered as the major advantage, higher radiation exposure than chest radiograph is also considered as the fundamental probl...

Whole heart coronary MRA at 3.0T: a comparison between multi and single- RF transmission

Introduction On high field MRI scanners uniform radio frequency (RF) excitation over the entire field-of-view is often challenging with single-channel RF transmit coils. This may cause a reduction of image quality (e.g. shadowing artifacts). This problem is most pronounced in sequences which heavily rely on a homogenous magnetic field, such as steady state free precession (SSFP) sequences, desp...

Influence of the Magnetic Field Strength on Image Contrast in Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced MR Imaging: Comparison between 1.5T and 3.0T

PURPOSE We quantitatively investigated hepatic enhancement in gadolinium-ethoxybenzyl-diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid (Gd-EOB-DTPA)-enhanced magnetic resonance (MR) imaging at 1.5T and 3.0T. METHODS A total of 40 patients who underwent Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced MR imaging were included in the study. Precontrast and hepatobiliary-phase images acquired at a low flip angle (FA, 12°) and hepatobil...

Coronary MR angiography.

Coronary MR angiography has developed rapidly over the past several years. Not only is research being performed at academic centers but industry is also investing in dedicated contrast agents and cardiac MR imaging platforms. Although current coronary MR angiography has limited clinical utility, its place within the assessment of ischemic cardiac disease is evolving. The technology currently un...
